The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation is now announcing a position as a development officer for the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation Norrbotten. You will have the opportunity to work alongside engaged colleagues and members to make a real difference.

As a development officer, you will play a central role in our work to support and develop our local branches and networks. You will receive support from the national office's experts and act as the link between them and the active members in Norrbotten. You need to create and maintain good contacts with people both within and outside the organization, which requires good collaboration skills and clear communication.

In your role, you will:

• Coordinate and support the various networks and working groups in the region
• Work with communication (website, press releases, social media)
• Support local branches with consultation responses/statements
• Ensure that operational goals and strategies are met, including in the form of projects where project applications, implementation, and final reporting are included
• Manage office administration and to some extent finances
• Use digital tools to reach a broader public
• Work pedagogically to support members and spread knowledge about our issues

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in association work or grassroots movement work
• Has a strong environmental commitment and shares the values of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation
• Has good written language skills (Swedish), as the position involves some writing in the form of press releases, social media posts, and statements
• Enjoys working long-term to establish effective routines and structures, but can prioritize when urgent matters arise

It is an advantage if you also:

• have experience in organizing larger activities
• have experience/knowledge regarding the permitting processes in mining issues or other land exploitation matters
• have knowledge of Sami and/or Finnish as well as English

Good to know

The position is a permanent employment and starts with a six-month probationary period. There are funds for a full-time position, but the working hours can be discussed. The position can also be divided into two part-time positions if two candidates match each other. You will work from home with flexibility in working hours, where some work occurs in the evenings and weekends. The position includes 35 vacation days per year if you work full-time. You preferably live in Norrbotten, but Västerbotten can also work. The employer provides a work computer and phone, and a collective agreement is in place.
