Workplace Description
The research group develops and implements decision support for emergency care, primarily in the emergency department, and is led by Ulf Ekelund.
The group consists of a professor, a senior lecturer, several associate professors, and a number of PhD students. Several members of the group are emergency physicians and work clinically in emergency departments in Skåne and Halland. The group also collaborates with other professors and research groups both in Sweden and abroad. The research group is now seeking a postdoctoral researcher who can continue working with our AI models and their implementation in emergency care.
The research is conducted at Skåne University Hospital in Lund.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
We are looking for a person to work with the following tasks:
- Further develop our AI models for decision support in emergency care, primarily for patients with chest pain
- Support the implementation in routine care with software adaptation
- Collaborate with healthcare IT staff on various IT/digitalization issues
- Work on independent research projects
Other tasks may also be included.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:
- PhD in medical science
- MSc in computer engineering
- Experience in developing AI models for emergency care based on ECG and blood tests intended for patients with chest pain
- Experience with neural networks and several other types of AI models
- Proficiency in advanced programming
- Very good ability to speak and write scientific texts in Swedish and English
Desirable qualifications for the position include:
- Good collaborative skills
Other Information
The employment is limited according to Special Fixed-Term Employment SÄVA 5§ p1 LAS and is full-time. The desired start date is 2025-06-01 or by agreement, with an end date of 2026-05-30.

The Department of Clinical Sciences in Lund (IKVL) is one of six departments at the Faculty of Medicine. This is to promote clinical and experimental translational research, development, and education.
