The Faculty of Law is seeking teaching assistants for work as student teachers for semester 1, in preparation for the autumn semester of 2025.
The course Introduction to Law, General Legal Theory, and Constitutional Law is divided into three modules. The module Introduction to Law covers the basics of practical legal methodology. The module General Legal Theory deals with the fundamental components and structure of the legal system. The module Constitutional Law addresses the Swedish state system and the foundations of cooperation within the European Union.
Requirements Profile
According to Chapter 5, Section 10 of the Higher Education Ordinance, only those who are admitted to undergraduate or advanced level education may be employed as teaching assistants.

Job Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, your tasks may vary, but you must study at the faculty where the work will be conducted, and the tasks should provide insight into the academic world.
The tasks for this position include:
- Leading various types of application exercises
- Leading discussions on study techniques
- Planning and conducting study visits to court hearings in District Court
- Coaching students for mandatory group work
- Developing and producing course materials as needed
In the student teacher group, a staff member may later be appointed to become the coordinating student teacher. This will add the task of leading the work in the student teacher collective and communication with the teachers, and the scope of employment will increase.
Qualifications
Eligible for employment as a teaching assistant is someone who is actively studying at the undergraduate and advanced levels at the relevant faculty and who has not yet graduated.
Requirements for the position are that you:
- Must be a student in the law program in Lund
- Have a strong interest in general legal theory and constitutional law
- Possess pedagogical skills
- Be able to convey the fundamentals of practical legal methodology
Desirable qualifications for the position:
- We are primarily looking for someone who is currently in or has previously completed semester 5
- Previous teaching experience
Conditions
The employment is temporary and will start on 2025-08-29 or by agreement and will end on 2026-01-18. The position is for 12% of full-time.
The employment must not negatively affect the teaching assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment as a teaching assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
