Primary School Teacher in Modern Languages; French 50% Permanent Position

Montessori Mondial Lund F-9 (MML) is looking for a qualified and licensed teacher in French starting August 2025. The position is available due to retirement and is a permanent 50% position teaching grades 6, 7, 8, and 9.

MML is a single-parallel school. Each grade/class of 25 students studies one of three modern languages; French, German, or Spanish. All three current teachers have other assignments alongside their teaching at MML, which is why modern language lessons are scheduled on Mondays and Fridays. Our teachers are qualified and licensed educators.

Montessori Mondial Lund (MML) is part of Pysslingen Skolor AB, with a focus on Montessori pedagogy. A smaller independent school with about 45 staff and 250 students. MML has been one of Lund's established and most qualitative independent schools for twenty-five years. We are located in beautiful premises in Södra Råbylund. Today, we have eleven schools within Montessori Mondial, where student and educator exchanges with other Montessori schools in Europe are part of our global work. We are also a “UN school” from preschool to grade 9. As a global school, we are members of Erasmus Plus, which includes job shadowing for staff, as well as opportunities for teachers to accompany students on language/democracy/student trips in grades 8 and 9. Our grade 8 students and teachers recently returned from a trip to Dunkerque, France. In Skåne, there are five of our Mondial schools.

We seek someone who views their subject as one of the most important and believes that all students can succeed when we create the right conditions for them. You are accustomed to working both independently and in teams as an educator.

Full-day learning as well as ICT in teaching are important parts of our working method in all subjects. We primarily work with Chromebooks. You have the didactic tools you need in your teaching. We expect that if you lack Montessori teacher training, you intend to pursue a degree in Montessori pedagogy in the long run. Many of our educators have studied after starting their position with us. We collaborate in a structured collegial subject exchange with the other eleven Montessori Mondial schools in Sweden.

You are used to communicating your mission via Lgr 22 and have developed your grading and assessment skills. At MML, we focus on both good relationships with our students as well as their knowledge development. The study motivation among students, as well as goal fulfillment in all grades, is very high. School should be fun, and it should especially be enjoyable to learn a modern language! Students make their language choice in the spring of grade 5. We work with Wellbeing Leaders and Montessori Sports at the school, which is why focus on safety and well-being is one of our cornerstones. 98% of all students at the school report feeling safe in their school environment. A good rating, although we always strive for 100%! Therefore, it is of great importance that you are a person who actively wants to create good relationships with both students and guardians. We work in mutual respect, which is why a good tone of conversation and friendly treatment is a given at the school. Swearing is not allowed. We contribute to developing our students' ability to take responsibility and want our students to see and feel that they can succeed – in all subjects!

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time 50%, permanent position. Monday and Friday. We strive to schedule in a way that allows our full-time teachers to have entire days off. Permanent employment, six months of probation. At MML, we strive for a more even distribution between genders. We place great importance on hiring individuals whose approach aligns with Montessori pedagogy's view of children's learning and the environment as a prepared and important factor.
