Floraskolan is a special needs primary school with students in grades 1-6. The school is centrally located in Kristianstad with proximity to nature. We are now looking for an engaged preschool teacher who can help provide students with the opportunity to reach their highest potential. Together with special education teachers, leisure teachers, and student assistants, you will create opportunities for our students with intellectual disabilities to learn and develop. You will work with students who have an intellectual disability and autism, as well as possibly some additional diagnoses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a preschool teacher with us, you will work together with special education teachers to provide instruction to our students in special needs primary education. You will create a pedagogical environment that challenges and stimulates students' development and learning while offering them a safe care and learning environment. The pedagogical activities are based on each student's conditions and are built on instruction that is designed together with special education teachers in accordance with the curriculum for special needs primary education. The work is organized from a holistic perspective based on assessment and documentation of each student's needs in combination with the overall quality of the school.

You are a clear and inspiring leader who handles changing situations and different people's behaviors. It is important that you create a relationship with students, guardians, and colleagues characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach, as well as positive expectations.

In a systematic way, you reflect on the practical work individually and together with others, while keeping yourself updated and taking advantage of new research and events in the outside world. You are involved in the work team and contribute to a good working environment and collegial learning.

The majority of the position is allocated to teaching in the school, but parts of the position may also involve teaching in after-school care.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have a preschool teacher certification with the authority to teach in preschool and have pedagogical ability and a clear pedagogical purpose to create a learning, enjoyable, and developing play/learning environment. Your ability to lead and stimulate children in their development and to adapt the pedagogical activities according to each child's conditions and needs is required for the job.

It is an advantage if you have experience working as a preschool teacher or have experience from other pedagogical work in preschool and/or primary school. We would like you to have experience working with children in need of special support and you have the ability to help students manage conflicts that arise.

You are well acquainted with and live up to the ethical principles for teachers and are well versed in the preschool curriculum and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as having the ability to implement these in practice.

With commitment, you meet children, guardians, and colleagues in a responsive, respectful, and professional manner. Knowledge of children's language development and other forms of expression such as art, music, and movement is a prerequisite for the work. The ability to work in a low-arousal manner is an advantage. You can integrate digital technology into daily activities and use it as a tool in your own work. Furthermore, you have knowledge of pedagogical documentation and systematic quality work, as well as the ability to take initiative, find solutions, and handle changing situations.

In order for us to consider your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching certification. When we want to offer you the position, you are required to present an extract from the police criminal record for us to be able to employ you, according to the provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
