Together, we create a sustainable tomorrow and an attractive municipality to live, work, and thrive in – today and in the future. This means a job where we challenge ourselves to think innovatively, learn, and develop with each other. Do you want to be part of a larger context where you can truly make a difference? Welcome to us at Växjö Municipality!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Intervention and Matching unit is part of the Department of Work and Learning, which in turn belongs to the Department of Work and Welfare. The unit works with the mission to offer interventions individually and in groups for people in need of extra support, with a priority for those receiving financial assistance. Additionally, there is some prioritization of youth in need of extra support. The goal of our operations is to contribute to more individuals making progress towards self-sufficiency, i.e., jobs or education.

Our mission is to provide interventions in the areas of labor market, health, social services, language development, digital competence, job seeking, matching, etc. In addition to working with skills-enhancing interventions individually and in groups, we work with employers and participants to match them with internships and jobs. This involves long-term and trust-building work to find suitable workplaces for our participants, which is based on regular and good contacts with employers both within the Växjö municipal group and in the business community. Creating relationships with employers, matching participants with jobs, organizing recruitment events, supporting the recruitment process, and following up with participants in workplaces are important tasks to achieve long-term relationships and results. Preparing, guiding, and matching towards both jobs and education is crucial to achieve long-term results, that is, the final step towards self-sufficiency.

We are a team of 12 employees who are now looking for you who find the job of a labor market officer interesting and meaningful. We look forward to welcoming you as our new colleague in the team!

Examples of job responsibilities include:

  • Guiding and coaching participants for progress towards self-sufficiency
  • Working with both individuals and groups with motivational interventions, skills development, and progress
  • Supporting participants on their way to jobs or education with commitment and professionalism
  • Matching participants with internship positions and jobs and following up with participants in workplaces
  • Collaborating with coordinators and other units with the participant in focus

As a labor market officer, you will have close collaboration with the municipality's coordinators in the mission to offer interventions based on the individual's needs and circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social sciences, political science, or behavioral sciences. Experience working with our target group is desirable. Experience in the labor market, matching, and contacts with employers is a requirement. Experience in care and SIUS methodology, Supported Employment, is an advantage.

To fit into the role and our team, we want you to be cooperative, innovative, service-oriented, flexible, and pedagogical. Additionally, we appreciate your contribution of openness, humility, and joy in our workplace.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. A driver's license (B) is required.
