Your future workplace

The workplace has about 20 employees and is located in central Umeå in modern and spacious office premises. Here, as a lawyer, you will be part of a team consisting of the chief lawyer and three other lawyers. The operations of Umeå municipal company are based on four important pillars: public transport, young entrepreneurship via BIC Factory, ownership of subsidiaries, and administration of the group.

Your work as a lawyer within Umeå municipal group

Being a lawyer within Umeå municipal group means assisting the municipal companies with support and advice on various legal issues. The subject areas and tasks vary from general contract law such as drafting, reviewing, and interpreting contracts to the companies' special legislation. Many of the municipal group's companies are facing extensive investments and thus have a need for a broad legal perspective, especially in relation to land development legislation, where we would like to see reinforcement in construction and procurement law. Real estate and environmental-related legal issues are often central. In municipal companies, corporate law and public law are combined. We handle both smaller and simpler disputes as well as complex cases with multi-million values. All cases are distributed in the team based on interest and focus, as well as the current work situation.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement. You will be employed by Umeå municipal company AB with the chief lawyer as your immediate supervisor.

Are you the one we are looking for?

You have a law degree and several years of experience from relevant legal work. You independently manage your area of responsibility with a solution-oriented approach. You are responsible, goal-oriented, and always strive to deliver high-quality work.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, where high integrity and good analytical ability are of great importance. During peak work periods, you have the ability to prioritize among tasks, which can often be very varied.
