Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a teacher qualified to teach German to join us at Stenkulaskolan. In your teaching role with us, you will plan your lessons, deliver them, and assess your students' acquired knowledge. The planning of your lessons may take place both individually and in collaboration with your colleagues. During the time you are not teaching German in grades 6-9, you will teach SO (Social Studies) and Swedish to students who are in greatest need of special support and who belong to our resource school. A mentoring role may also be relevant. Your teaching is modern and creative, aimed at reaching and finding strategies to strengthen your students, both academically and in their personal development. Furthermore, you will also engage in ongoing development work. This development work involves actively collaborating with other school staff to establish and maintain a good learning and working environment for students and staff at our school.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a certified teacher qualified to teach German. It is an advantage if you are also qualified to teach SO and Swedish as a second language. If you have previous experience working as a teacher, we also consider that an asset. You have a good understanding of and knowledge about the school's governing documents and can effectively use them in your daily work. Furthermore, you possess good didactic and pedagogical skills, allowing you to lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment for our students throughout their school day. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and, with good knowledge and experience, work effectively with relevant digital tools. You have a high ability to create an accessible learning environment for all our students and good competence in low-arousal responses. You need to have experience and competence to work with children with NPF (Neuropsychiatric Disorders). You will teach in regular classes as well as in smaller settings with children in need of special support. It is also important that you have the competence to work with children with hearing impairments.

About the Workplace

Stenkulaskolan is a K-9 school with approximately 500 students. Starting in the 25/26 school year, Stenkulaskolan has the opportunity to start a resource school with students in grades 1-9 where we will actively work to ensure that all students are included according to their needs. This means that all staff need to be open to changing their approach and teaching to best create an inclusive learning environment characterized by a strong belief that all students want to learn. Stenkulaskolan is also Malmö's alternative for students with hearing impairments, who are fully included in regular teaching groups. The above conditions allow for smaller class sizes/teaching groups at the school to create the right learning environment for each student. We work according to Simon Sinek's The Golden Circle, and the school's Why is: “We Make The World A Better Place”. Stenkulaskolan's commitment plan has focused in recent years on Accessible Learning Environment, SKUA (Language and Knowledge Developing Working Methods), and ICT as an accelerator for pedagogy.
