Then you should apply for the position of leisure leader at Gränby Recreation Club and Center!
Gränby Recreation Club and Center conducts open leisure activities in the form of a recreation club for children aged 10-12 and youth activities for young people aged 13-18. Our mission is to work with health, learning, culture, participation, equal value for all, collaboration, and entrepreneurship to create meaningful leisure for children and youth.
Your Mission
We are looking for employees who, together with their colleagues, will plan, lead, evaluate, and develop the recreation club activities (10-12 years) and youth activities (13-18 years). The position includes working evenings 2-3 nights a week.
Together with colleagues, you will drive and develop targeted activities for different groups, ages, interests, and needs. You are expected to take personal responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating activities and operations.

- building relationships
- taking initiative
- outreach activities, especially towards schools
- collaborating and developing partnerships with local and external actors as well as with children, youth, and guardians
- creating conditions to inspire children and youth to learn and develop in areas that interest them
- utilizing the engagement, creativity, and ability of children and youth to learn new things
- working with a promoting perspective.
Your Background
We are looking for someone who is a trained leisure leader, social pedagogue, or has another educational background that the employer deems relevant for the position. If you have leadership training, it is considered an asset. To succeed in this role, you need to have experience working with children and youth in open leisure activities. Experience working with youth aged 13-18 is a plus. The job requires experience with lighter administrative tasks and IT skills in programs such as Office 365. It is also beneficial if you have specialized skills in culture or sports.
As a person, you are good at creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships. You take initiative and start activities to achieve results. Furthermore, you have a good pedagogical ability and understanding of people's different conditions for absorbing knowledge. The job suits you if you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and flexible manner.

About Our Organization
Welcome to the Culture, Sports, and Recreation Administration. The administration consists of six departments. Two departments are secretariats that work directly on behalf of the administration's management and handle matters for the cultural committee and the sports and recreation committee. The two secretariats are responsible for strategic planning within the areas of responsibility of the cultural committee and the sports and recreation committee and prepare committee matters. The secretariats also handle support and grants for the free cultural life, study associations, the sports sector, and the association life in Uppsala Municipality and lead larger projects. Four of the administration's departments are primarily responsible for the cultural committee's own operations: Uppsala Library, Uppsala Recreation, Uppsala Art and Cultural Heritage, and Uppsala Culture School.
