Curator for Student Health Services

Temporary Position

The mission of the Student Health Services is to prevent and alleviate health risks and health problems related to student life. We work both proactively, preventively, and therapeutically, both individually and at group and organizational levels. The Student Health Services offers various types of activities for students for preventive and promotional purposes, some run by us and others commissioned by institutions/programs or student organizations. Students who find it difficult to manage their studies due to psychological, social, or other issues seek help at our reception. We meet students at an early stage, which means that our interventions often make a clear difference and the work is meaningful. Our team includes psychologists, curators, health educators, coordinators for student sports, and receptionists. The work is performed on-site.

Job Responsibilities

The work consists of preventive and therapeutic tasks. We are looking for someone who has experience and enjoys meeting groups in various contexts to provide information and hold workshops or similar on relevant themes. You also need to have experience and enjoy meeting individuals in support conversations. The work involves great variation, and we are looking for someone who thrives in that environment. Evening work may occur.

The preventive tasks in groups involve, for example, holding lectures, courses, and workshops for students at the Student Health Services and at various campuses of the university. It also includes information efforts, such as participating in fairs for new students at the start of the term.

The individual support conversations can be therapeutic or supportive, focusing on stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, or crises. Conversations about lifestyle issues and existential questions are also included.

You will be part of a team, and to succeed, we see that you have the willingness to work towards common goals and an interest in being involved in developing the operations. You should have a genuine interest in working with young people and a desire to meet them where they are based on their current needs.

Qualifications

You have a degree as a social worker, behavioral scientist, nurse, or other education of at least three years (university studies/bachelor's degree) that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You have at least one year of professional experience in giving lectures, workshops, or similar for groups. You should also have at least one year of experience working with individual counseling contacts and experience in assessing care levels.

Good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required as all tasks are performed in both languages.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as good collaboration skills, a structured approach to work, and the ability to take initiative. The position requires great flexibility.

Desirable/meritorious

Experience working with young adults is meritorious. Experience working in a student health care center is meritorious. Experience in counseling contacts within health care is meritorious. Basic psychotherapy training (Step 1) is meritorious.

About the Position

The position is a temporary position until 2026-08-31. The scope is 100%. Start date is 2025-09-01 or by agreement. Location: Uppsala
