The accommodation is aimed at adults with mental health issues and varying functional abilities and is located about 3 km from central Uppsala in the Norby area. With us, every individual is unique, and we strive to create a safe and supportive environment where independence and well-being are at the center. As part of our team, you will help shape our community from the ground up, and your role will be crucial in creating a meaningful and positive environment for our users.

Working hours vary and include sleeping on-call shifts; you will work irregular hours according to a rolling schedule.

Here, users live in their own apartments with a shared corridor and common areas in a newly built property. The goal of the user's intervention is for them to have as independent a life as possible. Support is tailored to each user's needs for a good and secure daily life.

Your Mission

As a residential assistant, your tasks will include meeting the individual's need for a safe environment, motivating and participating in various leisure activities, and creating structure and routines according to the users' implementation plans.

You will attend to each individual's needs to ensure that daily life is as predictable, safe, and joyful as possible. You are also expected to maintain contact with other actors in the user's network.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma in care and nursing, adult education in care and nursing, care training equivalent to nursing assistant competence, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. The work requires good oral and written skills in Swedish.

If you are a trained support pedagogue or social pedagogue, it is considered an advantage. We would also like you to have experience working with care for people with disabilities and knowledge of low-arousal approaches. Experience in psychiatric care is also advantageous. Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have skills in documentation, computer skills, and hold a B driver's license.

As a person, you have a good empathetic ability and can quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation. You remain calm and composed in various situations and have the ability to focus on the right things. Additionally, you take initiative and start activities to achieve results and are a communicative person who finds it easy to listen and adapt your way of communicating. You also collaborate easily and relate to others in a sensitive and smooth manner.
