Take the chance to work at one of Sweden's northernmost folk high schools, beautifully located at the mouth of the Kalix River, a couple of kilometers from the center of Kalix in Norrbotten County.

The folk high school is a form of adult education aimed primarily at adults aged 18 and older. The education at folk high school is free and voluntary. This means that participants choose to attend folk high school and that the courses are free from central curricula and municipal adult education. What distinguishes the folk high school is conversation and collective learning in groups. It is common to work both practically and theoretically in projects. The education is adapted to the participants' prior knowledge and experiences, and they are allowed to influence their education.

Kalix folk high school conducts education both on-site and remotely. Here, people from Kalix, other parts of the country, and even from the other side of the globe come together. Together, we cherish the ideas of folk education such as respect, tolerance, and the belief in a fairer world. We contribute to folk education with the vision of focusing on each individual and we want to see people grow. With a high degree of individualized education, we ensure to capture different learning styles and adapt the education as far as we can according to needs.

We are now looking for a mathematics and natural sciences teacher.

The job involves teaching our participants primarily in the general line in mathematics and natural sciences. The level of teaching varies, ranging from middle school to high school level, depending on the participants' study plans. Our participants you will teach will be present in the classroom but also online from various locations around Sweden.

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a team at Kalix folk high school and work together with others to offer something unique to our participants. You also need to be able to work independently, plan, implement, and evaluate your work.

To succeed in this role, we believe you are currently working as a teacher or have taught recently.

If you have experience in folk education and/or adult education, it is an advantage. It is an educational form where you have the opportunity to work creatively and where the boundaries are more open than in many other forms of study. The main authority for the school is the Study Association Vuxenskolan's interest association. The school started in 1939 and has an educational option for about 250 students each year. We offer education on-site as well as distance education and commissioned education in various fields, providing a varied range of educational options for many people.
