Job Advertisement: Teacher in After-School Care

The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to elementary school, offering instruction from preschool to grade 6. The foundation of the education is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the elementary school's governing documents and from the Sámi perspective, both individually and in teams. You will actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the school. Additionally, you will work with staff in other activities at the after-school care.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must have a teaching license for after-school care teachers. You are proficient in Sámi, both orally and in writing. You have a positive view of people and the ability to create good relationships, as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts.

You are meticulous, flexible, and responsive to the needs of students, and you enjoy working with children and youth.
