Teaching Assistant, Grades 7-9

In the role of teaching assistant, the work may be directed towards an individual student or towards a group of students who need support to benefit from education in the upper secondary school.

You must be able to build trust with the student while also being prepared to use that trust to create clear structure in the school day. You have the ability to help provide students with structure and, in collaboration with the teaching teacher, create a learning situation that increases goal fulfillment. You are quick and have a good ability to provide feedback to the mentor and teaching teacher. Good and ongoing communication with the student’s guardians is also important. You may meet the student in the morning as needed and ensure they complete the school day. You have a low-affect approach and are clear in your communication. You collaborate with teachers, student health, and other relevant staff with the student’s best interests in focus. As a person, you are flexible and have a strong sense of responsibility. You have a positive view of people and see each child's potential for development. You have the ability to work with others; to listen, show empathy, and respect. You are unpretentious and recognize and reward others' contributions.

Qualifications: Child and Youth Program or equivalent education based on the employer's needs. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities such as social competence, flexibility, and ability to collaborate, as well as a genuine interest in children and youth. We believe this profession suits both men and women. We would also like you to have knowledge of diabetes.

Other: Upon employment, you are required to present a criminal record extract according to the Education Act (2010:800 2 chap 31§). We welcome male applicants to balance the gender distribution in the workgroup. The position is a fixed-term employment of 80%, starting from 2025-08-13 to 2026-06-18 during the parental leave of regular staff.
