In the city center, there is Luleå Gymnasieby, a campus area that gathers most municipal upper secondary education programs with nearly 2300 students. The students in Luleå Gymnasieby should be given the conditions for lifelong learning by focusing on knowledge, participation, responsibility, and leadership so that they are prepared for working life and as citizens. The contacts with the business community are many, and in the local steering groups, the business community collaborates with the upper secondary school to create good conditions for the students to be well prepared for the time after their upper secondary education.

In the upper secondary school, there are also specialized programs in mathematics & physics, nationally approved sports programs, national basketball gymnasium, and LIP with International Baccalaureate.

We are now looking for a mathematics teacher for Luleå Gymnasieskola.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a high school teacher in mathematics for Luleå Gymnasieskola. The position includes teaching mathematics at both upper secondary and primary school levels.

You will be part of a program team in the Construction and Civil Engineering program or the HVAC and Property Management program. A mentoring assignment may be included in the position. You will also be part of a subject team with subject colleagues within the gymnasium. We are looking for teachers who want to collaborate, both within the subject and within the program. We see active mentorship and a safe leadership in the classroom as necessities for good goal fulfillment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a teaching degree and teaching license with mathematics for upper secondary school.

This job suits you who have good collaboration skills but can also independently plan your work. Part of the teaching takes place in introductory programs and is largely individually designed. Experience working with students in need of support and adaptations is meritorious.

If you do not have a teaching degree or teaching license in the above, you can still apply for this position and will then receive employment as an unqualified teacher according to the Education Act.
