JOB DESCRIPTION
As an important part of the work to prevent recidivism and to work according to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's vision "Better Out", extensive program activities are conducted for clients both in groups and individually. The treatment programs are manual-driven and conducted with high quality and according to the principles of evidence-based practice. They are primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy and social learning theory.
At Västervik Prison, programs aimed at general crime and violence, as well as substance abuse, are mainly conducted. The programs offered include; PRISM, One to One (OTO), Crime Focus, Dare to Choose, R&R2 (ADHD), RVP, Predov, and Entrè. The combined program offering means that you will simultaneously lead several different programs, both in groups together with a program leader colleague and individually. The assignment is carried out by a highly engaged program team consisting of 13 program leaders, to which we are now seeking additional employees. The main tasks of the program leader are to plan, lead, develop, and follow up the program activities at the prison together with the correctional officer and other staff members. Together with other staff, you are responsible for safety and order issues during the treatment work. Good collaboration with other program leaders, as well as with other staff at the prison and external partners, is important.
The position includes not only leading treatment programs but also administrative tasks such as documentation. The work with clients is based on a cognitive approach. As a program leader, you work with group treatment together with a program leader colleague for a number of inmates, emphasizing group processes. You also have individual conversations as part of the treatment. There may also be occasions when you conduct programs in other operational areas, and it may also take place digitally at a distance.
The position includes an initial internal basic training for program leaders that takes place in Norrköping. Training is conducted both on-site and remotely, alternating with practical periods at Västervik Prison.
