RESPONSIBILITIES

As a counselor, you are an important part of the school's student health team and work preventively and promote health at all levels in the school. You also work with students in need of support from a social and psychosocial perspective and actively participate with the school management in school development work. With your expertise, you contribute to ensuring that appropriate measures for students in need of special support are considered and offered. You work to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational level for students' health, learning, and development. As a counselor with us, you are a natural part of the students' school day, you thrive in all student contexts, and you always work for the child's best!

In your assignment, you strive to create an equitable learning environment for students that provides the conditions to achieve knowledge goals and personal development in an optimal way. You work from a solution-focused and evidence-based approach that is both preventive and health-promoting.

We see the strength in good relationships, and you will be an important part of value-creating meetings with students, other student health staff, educators, and guardians, where you may need to be both supportive and guiding. You are expected to constructively collaborate with social services, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and other external actors in your role. In this position, you will participate in the network consisting of all school counselors from the municipality's primary schools. This forum enables an exchange of experiences and knowledge among school counselors.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or behavioral science. Previous experience as a school counselor in primary school is an advantage. You have a genuine interest in children and adolescents, collaboration, and learning. You have a good understanding of and knowledge about the school's governing documents as well as social services laws and regulations and can effectively use them in your daily work to support students towards their goals. Based on research and proven experience, you develop and improve your work both individually and in collaboration with others.

To create successful teams, we are looking for someone who is curious, open to different working methods, and flexible in your collaboration. As a person, you have a very good ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and staff and can contribute to a good working climate. In your work, you are passionate about and good at putting the student in focus. Furthermore, you have the ability to work solution-oriented, structured, independently, and goal-oriented. Together with your colleagues, you actively work on improvement and development work to drive school development forward.

Experience is an advantage but not a requirement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
