The Education Department in Gävle is responsible for preschool, primary school, secondary school, and adapted education. We work to ensure that all children and students are challenged and succeed in their education. With us, you will help develop the best possible conditions for learning. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a secondary school teacher in Swedish, SVA, and English, you will work with teaching, have class responsibility, and be responsible for mapping, planning, implementing, and evaluating lessons. The work is carried out according to established goals and guidelines. Together with your colleagues, you will design a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus. You will challenge and support students so that they achieve good study results and adapt your teaching according to all students' needs and conditions. The work is performed in collaboration with other educators, student health, guardians, and other actors outside the school.

The secondary school is divided into program orientations. As a teacher in secondary school, you will work in both teams and individually with a focus on students' development.

The position is a fixed-term employment from August 12, 2025, to June 18, 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and teaching certification with authorization to teach Swedish, SVA, and English at the secondary level.

You are familiar with and have knowledge of the curriculum for secondary schools. You have the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing. It is an advantage for the position if you have knowledge of and experience with digital tools.

As a teacher, you have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized, you are efficient, and you use resources correctly to achieve the best possible results.

You have a humble approach in your collaboration with others.

You have the ability to lead and motivate students, helping them to feel comfortable and well. You are structured and plan your work well. You are good at creating an open dialogue and adapting your language according to the situation. You have a good ability to make students feel a sense of belonging and inclusion.
