Milboskolan is a K-6 school located in the pleasant Hille area on the northern outskirts of Gävle. The operation is divided into two buildings, K-3 and 4-6, and has approximately 350 students. Together with the schools in Björke, Trödje, and Bergby, Milboskolan belongs to the Bergby Principal Area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher in the after-school center, your main assignment will be in the afternoons, where you will work with your colleagues to run the program for children from preschool to grade 3. You will work closely with your seven colleagues in the team, where you will collectively be responsible for planning and teaching in the after-school center. In addition to your scheduled planning time in the mornings, you will also provide support in the rest of the primary school activities.

We see that the after-school center plays an important role in students' social development and learning. The after-school center should complement the school both in terms of time and content by offering activities that connect to and reinforce the work with the curriculum goals. Creative work and play are essential parts of the operation. Your tasks will therefore include planning, implementation, and evaluation of the activities according to the established goals and guidelines.

Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to creating a school where everyone feels safe and seen as students, guardians, and staff. We have a good collaboration between all professional roles where we collectively prioritize the child's best interests. We have a large and stimulating schoolyard and proximity to the forest, where you as a leisure educator can offer children a meaningful free time. You and your team will be a natural part of the school's safety work, PGU work (Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation), and systematic quality work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license with authorization to teach in the after-school center. You are familiar with and knowledgeable about the curriculum for primary school as well as for preschool and after-school centers. Furthermore, you have the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of and experience with digital tools is an advantage for the position.

The work as a teacher is very social, as you will teach many students but also have many other contacts, such as other educators, guardians, and other actors outside the school. Therefore, we are looking for someone who actively takes initiative in social contexts and has the ability to create trusting relationships. In your collaboration with others, you have a humble approach. Leading and motivating our students comes naturally to you, as you are good at creating an open dialogue based on the individual's circumstances.

For us, it is important that you can help students feel a sense of belonging and inclusiveness, as this is a significant part of the work. In your way of being, you instill trust, create confidence and reliability. You spread calmness and stability around you. To succeed in the role of a teacher, you need to be structured and plan your work well. It is also a varied job that requires you to adapt to different situations and have the ability to change your perspective and approach. Furthermore, you should have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized, take initiative, be courageous, and distinguish between issues and individuals.

As a final candidate, you must be able to present a criminal record from the police for work within schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
