The Education Department in Gävle is responsible for preschool, primary school, secondary school, and adapted education. Milboskolan is a K-6 school located in the pleasant area of Hille on the northern outskirts of Gävle. The school is divided into two buildings, K-3 and 4-6, and has about 350 students. Together with the schools in Björke, Trödje, and Bergby, Milboskolan belongs to the Bergby Principal Area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher for grades 4-6, you will work with instruction, have class responsibility, and be responsible for mapping, planning, implementing, and evaluating lessons. The work is carried out according to established goals and guidelines. Your responsibilities also include mentorship and collaborating with your colleagues to create a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus. You challenge and support students so that they achieve good academic results and adapt your teaching based on all students' needs and conditions. The work is performed in collaboration with other educators, student health, guardians, and other actors outside the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and teaching license with the qualification to teach grades 4-6 in the subjects of Swedish, social studies, and English. You have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and the primary school curriculum and have the ability to translate them into practice in an enjoyable and inspiring way. In the role of a primary school teacher, we believe it is important that you can express yourself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You have knowledge of and experience with digital tools, such as documentation in Unikum or Office. We would also like you to have an interest in using digital tools in teaching.

In your teaching role, you actively take initiative in social contexts, step forward, and find it easy to create new and trusting relationships. Leading and motivating students and helping them feel comfortable and well is natural for you, and you also have the ability to make students feel a sense of belonging and inclusion. You have a humble approach and find it easy to collaborate with others towards a common goal. Furthermore, you work in a planned and structured manner and have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized.

As a final candidate, you must be able to present a criminal record check from the police for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
