Section Manager for Network Operations

Do you want to lead an operation at the core of Sweden's electricity system and play a key role in the energy transition? We are looking for a section manager for Network Operations who wants to drive development and ensure that our power system maintains the highest operational reliability – today and in the future.

About the position

We are now seeking a section manager for the newly established section of Network Operations. This role is newly created and offers you a unique opportunity to shape and lead the section's work, which consists of five central units where the unit managers are responsible for their respective units. Three of the units are operational control room units that regulate voltage, perform connections in the transmission grid, and monitor alarms for our facilities. In addition to these, there is the Operations Planning unit, which handles outage planning and short-term operational planning. This is done in close collaboration with the Network Division and other units within the section. The fifth unit is a development unit focused on the section's long-term development and ongoing improvement work. The section will initially consist of about 55 employees and will grow to about 70 employees over time.

The main mission of the section is to ensure high operational and personnel safety while enabling the energy transition by contributing to a comprehensive expansion of the transmission grid. An important part of your work will be to develop the section and operations as a whole, focusing on collaboration, culture, and competence supply.

You will report to the operations manager at Svenska Kraftnät and hold electrical safety delegation.

As a section manager, you will lead the section's work and be responsible for:

• driving and developing the operation through internal section work and setting requirements for the rest of the organization
• actively participating in the operations management team and contributing to operational and strategic decisions
• leading and distributing work within the section to ensure that development work progresses without the section becoming a bottleneck in the transmission grid expansion
• establishing successful collaborations with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as representing the section in working groups and steering committees
• ensuring the entire operation's delivery and participating in the operation's crisis management organization.

About you

Requirements:

You continuously keep yourself updated in your field and develop your competence to meet future demands. With a focus on collaboration, you find solutions that benefit the common goal and build strong relationships, both internally and externally.

We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Furthermore, you have an academic degree in a relevant field for the position, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that Svenska Kraftnät assesses as equivalent. You also have:

• at least five years of relevant work experience in the energy sector, of which at least three years of managerial experience in a personnel-leading position with budget and personnel responsibility
• very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience in leading other leaders
• experience in operational and personnel safety environments
• successfully conducted change work
• a B driver's license.

• Opportunity for remote work up to 20% #LI-hybrid
• Travel may occur. Usually about once a month but can vary based on need
