About the position

In the role of Relay Protection Engineer, you will be part of a team of experienced colleagues responsible for the relay protection systems in our facilities. The work includes designing relay protection systems, calculations, and developing relay protection settings. You will be responsible for producing protection settings, designing relay protection systems, and conducting other relevant analyses and calculations in the field. You will also:

• Participate in our investigations and facility projects as the responsible for protection systems
• Participate in the management of our relay protection systems
• Participate in business development and technology development in the field

Currently, there is a lot of development in how we work with relay protection settings and disturbance analysis. Therefore, there are exciting opportunities to help develop future working methods with more digital solutions.

As a Relay Protection Engineer, you will work with relay protection issues with us in the Protection Systems unit. The unit currently consists of 14 employees. The unit's overall responsibility is to support Svenska kraftnät with expertise in relay protection issues and disturbance analyses. The unit is also responsible for the formulation of the technical requirements in the field of protection systems.

About you

Requirements

We want you to have a civil or university engineering degree with a focus on electrical power, energy systems, or equivalent. You may also have acquired relevant competence in another way that the employer assesses as equivalent. The role requires that you have:

• Several years of work experience with directly grounded networks 130-400 kV, including a couple of years of experience where you have independently developed relay setting plans/selectivity plans and designed relay protection systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
• A valid driver's license (B).

We consider it an advantage if you have experience with:

• Using calculation programs (CAPE, PSS/E, or similar software)
• Working with various generations of relay protection (numerical, static, electromechanical)
• Working with disturbance analysis for directly grounded networks 130-400 kV

Security clearance and military placement

We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness.
