At the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology at Sahlgrenska Academy, extensive research and teaching are conducted across large areas of knowledge - from molecule to human. The activities consist of five sections: pharmacology, physiology, health and rehabilitation, clinical neuroscience, and psychiatry and neurochemistry.

The Department of Neuroscience and Physiology is now seeking an assistant, placed at the Section for Clinical Neuroscience.

The research group “Clinical Brain Tumor Research” is based at the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology and is led by Asgeir Jakola. The group consists of doctoral students, research clinicians, research nurses, a research assistant, and students. We work with issues concerning patients with brain tumors, primarily focusing on clinically oriented studies. The group has several national and international collaborations.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an assistant who can help with data collection in the form of neuropsychological testing. You will recruit and test new control subjects, as well as conduct follow-up testing of previous control subjects. The work also includes entering and processing data and performing statistical calculations. You will have access to supervision from a neuropsychologist, but the work is mainly conducted independently.

Qualifications

Eligible for employment as an assistant is someone who is admitted to undergraduate or advanced level education. Requirements include a psychology degree, approved term 7, and very good knowledge of the Swedish language.

Experience working with the patient category, familiarity with neuropsychological testing, and experience with database management and statistical processing are meritorious. Applicants should be independent in their work approach, have good collaboration skills, and appreciate working in a research organization. We value attention to detail and good communicative, administrative, and strategic abilities. Personal suitability is highly emphasized.

Employment

The position is a fixed-term employment for 7 months, 20% of full-time, with placement at the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology. Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement.
