Friskolan Metis in Skara is looking for an engaged new colleague for our preschool class. We are a small school unit with just over 200 students from preschool to grade 9, and we also have the affiliated preschool Athena. We work in two teams – one for grades F-6 and one for grades 7-9 – where each teaching group consists of a maximum of 20 students. We believe that the staff's engagement is the key to development and that all students have the right to succeed.

About us

At Friskolan Metis, we help students develop their abilities, knowledge, and skills so they can become independent and responsible citizens. Our interdisciplinary thematic approach is based on students being active and engaged in their learning. They learn to take responsibility for their studies, be critical of sources, manage conflicts, and interact with people both in everyday life and on social media. We also have an active student health team with access to all professions, ensuring that you as an educator receive the support you need.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher in the preschool class, you will be a central part of our development team. You are a personal, attentive, and clear leader who sees and cares for each student. Together with your colleagues, you will plan, implement, evaluate, and develop teaching based on our governing documents and the school's goals. Your pedagogical responsibility requires creativity, inventiveness, and flexibility, where you clearly motivate students to achieve good results. Collaboration with other colleagues occurs in a non-prestigious spirit, and your ability to adapt methods to the needs of the student is crucial.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed preschool teacher or primary school teacher for grades F-3. You have a genuine interest in children's learning and development, as well as a strong desire to further develop your profession. You possess excellent leadership qualities, communicate effectively, and create positive, sustainable relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Experience working with students on the autism spectrum is an advantage.
