Research Assistant in Social Medicine and Public Health

The Department of Medicine, Division of Social Medicine and Public Health, conducts extensive teaching and research in global public health science, general medicine, occupational medicine, environmental medicine, social medicine, pharmaceutical use, and pharmaceutical policy. We also conduct teaching and research in nutritional epidemiology, insurance medicine, innovation and utilization, health economics, biostatistics, and registry epidemiology.
The position is placed within the research platform Borders in Health, Medicine and Society, an international and interdisciplinary research environment with researchers in migration, global health, medicine, and social sciences. The position will primarily involve assisting in two ongoing research projects: FORTE funded “HER-SUM Unaccompanied Girls on the Run - Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights during Adolescence and Young Adulthood”; and “The Boundaries Longitudinal Study: Doctors' Attitudes Regarding Reporting Undocumented Patients Seeking Care,” funded by the Swedish Research Council.
Job Responsibilities
As a research assistant, you will work in two research groups, partly under the guidance of researchers, including partly independently conducting qualitative interviews in Arabic, analyzing qualitative data (with meta-analyses and intersectional analysis), co-authoring research articles, and compiling a policy brief to disseminate research results.
Qualifications
A master's degree in migration and health, medicine, global health, or sexual and reproductive health is required for the position. The applicant must also have good knowledge of Arabic, English, and Swedish (at least C1) in both spoken and written form.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in research on and/or with marginalized groups
- Experience interviewing vulnerable groups (in clinical and/or research contexts)
- Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and global health
- Experience conducting meta-ethnographic analyses
