The Cultural Administration's activities enrich people's lives through libraries, meeting places for youth, art, and other cultural activities.

Halmstad Municipality has been designated as the Culture Municipality of the Year 2023 for a long-term cultural policy that contributes to quality of life, community, health, welfare, and democracy for all residents and visitors.

About 130 people work in the Cultural Administration, divided into three departments: culture and art, the libraries in Halmstad, and the administrative staff.

The Cultural Administration is responsible for cultural services throughout Halmstad Municipality and works with participation as a central tool. Here you will find award-winning libraries, and at our meeting places, we assume that all young people should be given the opportunity for a meaningful leisure time. We have a museum of national renown and a comprehensive collection of public art in the urban space. We operate Halmstad's new cultural center and are responsible for support forms for the cultural life as well as the municipality's citizen service.

Are you passionate about the well-being of children and youth? Halmstad Municipality has launched a brand new meeting place at Ranagård in a larger primary school and adapted school, which also includes an integrated public and school library and a meeting place for youth. This is Halmstad's first combined meeting place for youth and libraries focused solely on children and youth and their important adults. In this operation, we have access to many different creative spaces, we work closely with the school and other administrations, and we reach out to students in adapted schools. The operation is based on safety, a sense of responsibility, context, and attractiveness, with a strong focus on participation in the development of the operation. Our mission is, among other things, to inspire, enrich, and enable an equal and meaningful leisure time for children and youth in Halmstad Municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to help coach and support children and young people's opportunities for meaningful leisure in an open activity? We are now looking for an engaged youth coach with a norm-critical approach who excels in coaching and interaction. You will work with youth in grades 5-9, as well as youth with disabilities in grades 6-1 of high school. You will also assist library visitors who are children aged 0-16 years, as well as their important adults.

We also collaborate extensively with nearby schools and other external actors. The working method at Flow means that youth coaches and librarians work closely together to create an attractive activity for all our visitors. The primary mission of the youth coaches is relationship building and enabling youth influence and participation. We achieve this by supporting and coaching the youth's ideas and working inclusively and outwardly to meet young people's needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an education as a behavioral scientist, leisure leader, or other post-secondary education that the employer, together with experience, deems appropriate. You have a genuine interest in youth issues and see young people as a resource. It is an advantage if you have experience working with youth participation. You are outgoing, engaged, and have an easy time creating new contacts. You are structured and enjoy working independently while also thriving in collaboration as you will be part of various networks and working groups. We also view positively if you have experience working with culture. To be successful in the role, you need to be proactive and have a coaching approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Evening work is included.
