We have the vision! Do you have the calling? We are looking for a proactive, creative, and "out-of-the-box" thinking deacon who wants to and dares to live with the difficult questions and meet the needs by realizing the vision of a deacon center.

Mora Parish offers an inspiring and pleasant workplace with ample room for personal initiatives. We are now looking for a deacon who wants to develop together in a parish with a big heart. We have three districts; Mora, Sollerön/Venjan, and Våmhus, which collaborate and strengthen each other. The hospital church is also included.

Your Tasks

As a deacon, you will work with spiritual care, offer social meeting places, lead discussion groups and devotions, and participate in worship. Currently, we work with conversations and walks focusing on existential health, a support group for survivors, men's breakfasts, and dinners for young adults. In the parish, we also have a work-integrated social enterprise that gives people far from the labor market a new chance at work. Our focus is to empower people, and we run a second-hand store, do workshop work, manage catering, etc.

In the establishment of the deacon center, there is a rectory from the 1600s with a lovely park environment next to the Vasaloppet finish line. Here we want to see a center full of life where both joy and sorrow can meet in a spiritually caring and uplifting environment. The social enterprise is an important part of the parish's diaconal work and needs to be integrated and developed as a natural part of the deacon center.

There is great opportunity to influence the content of the position and contribute to our operations with your specific skills and interests. There is also the possibility to combine with some time as a hospital deacon or leadership as a district manager.

Your main placement is in Mora, but work takes place throughout the parish.

Your Profile

You are an ordained deacon in the Church of Sweden. Previous experience in diaconal work is an advantage. Personal qualities are highly valued.

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in people and who is passionate about making a difference. You are proactive, can work independently, and want to be a team player. You are solution-oriented, see opportunities, and create inclusive communities. You are secure, structured, and have good endurance in your work.

A requirement for the position is that you have good language skills in Swedish, where you can express yourself well in both speech and writing. A driver's license is an advantage.
