The Department of Work and Welfare is undergoing an exciting transformation to become an even more preventive and accessible social service, in line with the intentions of the new Social Services Act. We now need reinforcement from a driven communicator who enjoys both strategic thinking and operational action.

The department consists of four areas: children and youth, education and work, investigation, and adult care. As a communicator in the Department of Work and Welfare, you belong to the office and development division. The division also includes committee secretaries, registrars, developers, communicators, and coordinators. Together with the finance and HR division, we form the department's staff, and we all contribute within our areas to provide the department's operations with good conditions to fulfill their mission for the citizens. In the department, we are a total of about 450 employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

With us, you will play a key role in helping our operations succeed with their communication, both internally to our employees and externally to our citizens. You will plan, develop, and implement communication efforts that truly make a difference. The role also involves supporting and strengthening colleagues' communicative abilities, including through training and workshops. Together with your communicator colleague, you will be responsible for the overall communication of the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply have at least a bachelor's degree from a university in media and communication studies or equivalent higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent. We want you to have documented experience in communication work, preferably within municipal administration or another politically governed organization. You also have experience working with various communication channels.

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience with communication efforts to reach vulnerable target groups in society in a simple and clear way.
• experience working with photography, film, and graphic design.
• experience supporting operations in press and media work.
• knowledge of applicable legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Since the job responsibilities include quality assurance of information, very good Swedish in speech and writing is required. You have documented experience in formulating, writing, and summarizing messages by writing clearly, concisely, and well-structured with the ability to adapt your texts based on the intended target audience. You have the ability to hold presentations, lectures, and training sessions and adapt these to the needs and feedback of the audience. Furthermore, you have good IT skills and documented experience working with the Office suite as well as CMS tools and Adobe CS. We want you to have documented knowledge of image processing, layout, and web publishing. Experience working with information security and accessibility in e-services is particularly valuable, as these areas are important parts of our digitalization journey.
