The Västernorrland Regiment, I 21, was re-established in 2022 and currently operates in three locations: Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand. The unit is responsible for training and maintaining two independent infantry battalions and a military base. About the Unit

The Basic Training Battalion Ångermanland Infantry Battalion (Infbat) at I21 in Sollefteå trains conscripts for several different combat units. The battalion was established in 2024 and is conducting its first training year with around 100 conscripts. Before the intake in 2025, the number of conscripts will nearly double, and the battalion will establish its second Basic Training Company, the Functional Company, alongside the existing Norrland Infantry Company.

Main Responsibilities

As a personnel administrator at Infbat, you will be part of the battalion staff and assist the battalion leadership and commanders in personnel administrative work. Primarily, the position serves as a managerial support in personnel-related matters, and you will be a significant link between the battalion and the regiment staff's personnel department (G1).

You will also be involved in the work with applications for basic officer training (GOU), which requires experience and understanding of how military training works. The work includes both the selection process and administration of candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience in military operations
• Education in HR or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Driving license B

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience in military training
• Experience in administrative work within the personnel area
• Experience with the Armed Forces' support systems PRIO and VIDAR

In 2022, the Västernorrland Regiment was re-established with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. With us, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique, the re-establishment of a regiment in Lower Norrland.

I 21 currently operates in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for the Lower Norrland Garrison. In Sollefteå, there is the Regiment Staff (with personnel in both Sollefteå and Östersund) and the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion. In Östersund, there is the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps. In addition, there is a Garrison Support Unit, Defense Health, and Logistics Unit with operations in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand.

At the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, we train conscript soldiers for service in the new modern infantry under our proud motto “From mountains to sea, for the defense of Lower Norrland”.
