Who are we

The Court of Appeal for Lower Norrland is one of the six courts of appeal in Sweden. The court's main task is to review cases and matters that are appealed from the five district courts in Västernorrland, Gävleborg, and Jämtland counties. In addition to handling cases, the court is tasked with educating clerks and assessors in the four-year judicial education program. The court also provides opinions on legislative proposals, etc., referred to it by the government, and reviews cases appealed from the Legal Aid Authority.

The court is located in central Sundsvall and has approximately 55 employees. The Court of Appeal for Lower Norrland is a court that continuously develops its working methods to meet citizens' demands for legal certainty, good service, transparency, and accessibility. We are looking for a switchboard operator with additional receptionist duties for the Court of Appeal for Lower Norrland.

Job Description

As a switchboard operator, your main task is to quickly, accurately, and professionally handle incoming calls to twenty courts. You will determine whether the call should be forwarded or if you can respond directly using operational support and search functions. The goal is to provide answers directly in the switchboard service as much as possible. You will be part of a team of six switchboard operators, each serving as a contact person for 3-4 court clients. You will also update information in various IT systems.

Your receptionist duties include providing good service to visitors and managing access cards, locks, and alarms. Additionally, we have a rotating schedule where you will be responsible for monitoring and closing after completed hearings. During these times, work may be required after regular office hours.

All switchboard operators undergo internal training.

Qualifications

  • Approved high school diploma or equivalent education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Very good computer skills
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally in Swedish and English
  • At least a couple of years of current experience in switchboard or customer service

In the role of switchboard operator, you are the face of the courts and often the first contact the public has with a court. This places very high demands on your ability to provide a good and professional response as well as high service.

You have a pronounced sense of service and enjoy helping others. You are positive, responsible, meticulous, and have good judgment. You are flexible and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Since we work in teams, it is important that you can collaborate easily and contribute to a good working atmosphere.

Practical information

Employment type: Permanent position with a six-month probationary period.

Extent: Full-time

Working hours: Regular weekly working hours are Monday to Friday between 07:45 and 16:12. When the business allows, there is an opportunity for flexible hours.

Start date: By agreement

Salary type: The Swedish Courts apply individual salary setting.
