Description

We are now looking for a home economics teacher for grade 6 who wants to play an important role in the students' development and have the opportunity to make a difference in their lives.

We are seeking an engaged and flexible Home Economics Teacher who will teach students in grade 6 from three different schools. You will be an important part of inspiring and motivating students to develop their practical and theoretical knowledge in the subject of home economics. The position entails a varied and dynamic working environment where you will have the opportunity to meet students at several schools and contribute to their learning and development.

You will physically teach at our newly built schools Stockfallets School (https://karlstad.se/forskola-skola-och-utbildning/grundskola/grundskolor/stockfallets-skola) and Färjestad School (https://karlstad.se/forskola-skola-och-utbildning/grundskola/grundskolor/farjestadsskolan).

Responsibilities

Being a home economics teacher for grade 6 means teaching students subjects related to everyday skills and knowledge, particularly in areas such as cooking, health, economics, and sustainability. Home economics education for grade 6 aims to provide students with basic tools to manage their own health, cooking, and finances in a conscious and responsible manner.

As a home economics teacher for grade 6, your main task is to develop students' knowledge and skills based on the curriculum and each student's individual needs and conditions. You will plan the teaching by setting goals, choosing methods and materials, and preparing lessons. Together with the students, you will evaluate the teaching to always strive to improve the instruction, students' learning, and your professional development.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a teaching license in home economics.

As a person, you take responsibility for your teaching and planning. You create your own teaching materials and actively seek new methods to develop your lessons. You should enjoy working in different environments and see the charm in switching between different schools or tasks, such as teaching both theoretically and practically. You should have a good ability to build a positive and open relationship with the students, making them feel secure in participating in the lessons.

We hope you are someone who wants to develop learning by coming up with new, exciting, and varied ways to engage students in home economics. This could be through using new technological tools, creating project-based assignments, or holding theme days on various topics such as sustainability or food culture.
