Karlstad Municipality plans to develop an industrial technology center with the goal of contributing to the Karlstad region as a national and regional growth engine.

The industrial technology center will feature the latest technology in automation, CNC, processes, robotics, and much more in a creative and inspiring environment.

By developing and operating the industrial center in close collaboration with industrial companies and Karlstad University, we establish a direct link to academia and the labor market, ensuring that our training programs are always relevant and in demand. The goal is to provide our students and professionals with significant career opportunities while giving companies access to the right skills.

Our new training programs, alongside existing programs at Karlstad Technical Center (KTC), create a broad educational offering for many different target groups.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a teacher/developer to initiate and develop our new vocational training programs, initially focusing on machining/CNC. The goal is for you to also participate in the development of Karlstad's industrial training in automation, maintenance, and process industry.

In this position, you will initially work primarily with adult students, but eventually also with youth.

The new training programs will be developed in collaboration with existing programs at Karlstad Technical Center (KTC) where the position is located. You will work on developing the teaching from the ground up in close collaboration with our industrial companies. At the beginning of your employment, you will lead the development of content and equipment for an initial training start in machining scheduled for January 2026.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must have documented professional experience in machining/CNC. It is also important that you are accustomed to working with Office 365 as a foundation. You need to have good knowledge and experience in CAD/CAM and computer-controlled production. Excellent oral and written skills in Swedish and good knowledge of English, as well as a valid driver's license (B), are required.

It is beneficial if you have experience in teaching both practical and theoretical components within industrial courses.

We prefer candidates with a teaching certification and who are test leaders for green certificates in CNC, or alternatively, hold a green certificate/blue certificate. If you have education at the vocational college level/university level in machining and knowledge of other languages, we consider this a plus.

As a person, we expect you to be development-oriented, flexible, and possess good collaborative skills. You can and want to take significant responsibility for creating an attractive and modern vocational education.

You recognize the importance of collaboration in a collegial context and actively contribute new ideas within the framework of teaching, striving to motivate all students based on their diverse backgrounds and interests. We see that you work to maintain high quality in teaching based on scientific principles and proven experience.

The position is a permanent employment, provided you have a teaching certification. If you do not have a certification, you will receive a temporary employment with an action plan that involves obtaining the certification during your ongoing employment. The position will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made.
