Description

We are now looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable teacher for our adapted upper secondary school who wants to support our students on their journey to adulthood.

Tingvallagymnasiet is a place to grow, and we operate both at Tingvalla and Nobelgymnasiet. Young people with intellectual disabilities or acquired brain injuries under the age of 20 can apply to programs within the adapted upper secondary school.

We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher who has experience working with the target group belonging to the adapted school form. We want you to have a broad subject competence to teach various theoretical subjects.

The adapted upper secondary school formally belongs to Tingvallagymnasiet but operates at Nobelgymnasiet. This position currently involves working at Nobelgymnasiet.

Responsibilities

As a teacher in the adapted upper secondary school, your mission is to provide students with the best possible conditions to acquire knowledge and prepare our youth for adulthood.

You will teach grades 1-4 in theoretical subjects related to the national programs of the adapted upper secondary school. The tasks are varied, including teaching, teamwork, mentorship, planning, and implementation. You will be part of a team with several other teachers working together to support students' development. You will also receive significant support from our guidance and collaboration organization, Bryggan, as well as from student health services.

Qualifications

To work within the adapted upper secondary school, there is a requirement for a teaching license, and we are looking for someone with a primary school teaching license. We also wish for you to have experience working with the target group. As a teacher in the adapted upper secondary school, there is also a requirement that you are a qualified special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities.

To thrive in this role, it is important that you are interested in people and understand the different conditions and needs of students. You also need to have a pedagogical approach tailored to the target group and a good ability to work independently as well as collaborate with colleagues.

A teacher's everyday life involves several digital tools such as learning platforms, attendance reporting, information and communication, and documentation.
