At the investigation unit of Region North, there is the section for the Regional IT Crime Center. The section includes several different areas of expertise, all focused on complementing and contributing to the region's investigative activities. The Regional IT Crime Center North has the task of investigating and assisting with specialized expertise in investigations involving IT-related elements.

One of the departments within the Regional IT Crime Center is ISÖB (Internet-related sexual offenses against children) where we work with sexual offenses against children and adolescents on the internet, and where you will serve. ISÖB is currently located in Luleå, Umeå, and Sundsvall, and we serve the entire Region North. The group consists of investigators who are specially trained to work with children and adolescents who have been subjected to offenses related to the IT environment and therefore have high technical competence and are accustomed to working with various specialist functions to drive investigations forward.

We are now looking for an analyst to be placed in Luleå, Umeå, Sundsvall, or Östersund.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone interested in working as an operational analyst in the ISÖB group (Internet-related sexual offenses against children) at the Police's Regional IT Crime Center. It is important to note that the position may involve exposure to offensive material.

As an operational analyst, you will work together with the group's other functions in various phases of the preliminary investigation. Your work will be central to making the right decisions and achieving success during both the investigation phase and the subsequent investigative work.

Your tasks will consist of gathering, structuring, processing, and visualizing large amounts of data and information in databases and analysis programs. You will perform qualified operational and technical analyses, interpret investigation materials, present conclusions, and develop recommendations for continued information gathering and case management, as support for the ongoing operation's direction. As an operational analyst, you are expected to contribute to visualizations and presentations of cases for prosecutors and during main hearings.

Travel and work at other locations will be required.

Requirements Profile

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • post-secondary education with a relevant focus for the position, such as IT forensics or systems science. Alternatively, you have equivalent knowledge acquired in another way, which the employer assesses as relevant.
  • current experience in gathering, managing, and analyzing large datasets.
  • very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • good ability to express yourself in English, both orally and in writing.
  • very good IT skills and good experience with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Swedish B driver's license (manual transmission).
  • Swedish citizenship.

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • current experience working with investigations.
  • experience within the Swedish Police Authority or another government agency, where experience from the Police Authority is preferred.
  • work experience presenting analytical work.
  • experience in information gathering through open sources, e.g., social platforms.

Personal Qualities

As a person, you are meticulous, structured, and ambitious, but also curious and humble. You have a very good ability to think analytically and logically, and can convey large amounts of complex information clearly. Furthermore, we see that you have good judgment and social competence, are aware of the importance of treatment and the significance of treating people equally. You have good collaboration skills and can work both independently and in a team with other functions and authorities.

The assignment also requires endurance, stress resistance, and flexibility, as it may sometimes be necessary to handle new urgent tasks with short notice, alongside other ongoing tasks.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Other Information

Employment type: Permanent employment with a six-month probationary period.

Work location: Luleå, Umeå, Sundsvall, or Östersund.

Working hours: Weekly planned 5:2.

Start date: By agreement.

Function: Analyst.
