Company Description

Vattenfall is one of Europe's largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat. Our main markets are Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. Within the Vattenfall Group, there are approximately 20,000 employees. We have electrified industries, delivered energy to homes, and transformed lives through innovation for over a hundred years. We now aim to enable a fossil-free living and drive the transition to a sustainable energy system.

About the Role

As a Portfolio Analyst, you will be part of the product and portfolio team responsible for electricity products for our corporate customers in the Nordic region. It is a close-knit team of 8 colleagues reporting to the head of Commodities Corporate.

Vattenfall is one of the largest suppliers of electricity to corporate customers in Sweden and the Nordic region. Our responsibility is to ensure that the product portfolio is attractive, profitable, and complies with existing laws and regulations. We work closely with the sales department, customer service, IT, Business Control, and several other departments within Vattenfall.

What You Will Do

In the role of Portfolio Analyst, you will manage the customer contract portfolio, including forecasts for business plans, reporting, and analysis of various dimensions of the B2B business to enable governance, increased profitability, and quality in the business. You will be responsible for monitoring the portfolio's gross margin and associated risks in the electricity business, presenting and explaining results, analyses, and conclusions in various reports and meetings with key stakeholders. Reporting includes risk outcomes, margins, portfolio status, etc. You will perform ad-hoc analyses of the business and be involved in product development.

Your main deliverables are;

  • Calculation, analysis, and reporting of portfolio value, delivered gross margin, and risks.
  • Customer portfolio plans and analysis for business planning.
  • Measuring, analyzing, and mitigating risks in the portfolio.
  • Driving the development towards more automated portfolio reporting in PowerBI.
  • Implementing new products in the portfolio and follow-up.

To succeed in this role, you will need to understand the various needs within the organization, challenge existing working methods, and create a structure that is as digitalized as possible.

Requirements

We would like you to have knowledge of the electricity market and electricity products, but to be successful as a Portfolio Analyst, we highly value your personal qualities. We believe you are curious, driven to develop and improve working methods, comfortable with data management, and have an eye for detail.

We are looking for someone who has;

  • Relevant university degree, e.g., engineering, business administration, computer science, or similar.
  • Experience in analytical work and reporting, preferably in tools such as Power BI, Databricks, SQL, and Excel.
  • Experience in financial reporting, preferably within the finance or energy market.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

As a person, you have a strong numerical analytical ability and understand relationships to build reports that are relevant to the recipients as well as to detect inaccuracies and deficiencies in data quality and logic. You are self-driven, take initiative, and interact directly with stakeholders. You are enthusiastic about working closely with other team members – sharing ideas and developing reporting together. You have the ability to plan your work in a structured way and are known for delivering high quality on time.
