FOI, the Total Defence Research Institute, is one of Europe’s leading institutes for applied research in defense and security. About the position

FOI is in a strong growth phase, and we are now looking for an archivist with an interest in e-archives to complement our section! You will be part of a team of archivists who work together to develop FOI’s information management in a digital direction. You will participate in agency-wide projects and development work conducted within the field of information management, including the e-archive project. In this project, you will participate in analysis work for delivery processes for connection to e-archives, requirement specification for technical solutions, conduct information valuation in various systems, and produce relevant governing documents for comprehensive digital information management. Furthermore, your role includes providing training, advice, and support for the organization regarding public access and confidentiality, as well as other ongoing tasks within the archive function. Travel to our operational locations in Linköping, Umeå, and Grindsjön may occur.

About the unit

You will be part of the Information Management section within the Legal Unit, which belongs to the Research Support department. The section consists of archivists, registrars/document controllers, and a section manager. Currently, the section has 10 employees and is located in Kista.

Do you have the competence profile we need?

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has;

  • a relevant education for the position in either archival science or another education that we assess as equivalent,
  • current knowledge of legislation, standards, and governing specifications within the archival field,
  • several years of professional experience in information management in public operations,
  • good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, in both Swedish and English.

To thrive and succeed in the role of archivist, a positive attitude towards the tasks and the organization is crucial. You are confident and experienced in your area of expertise and have the ability to translate your knowledge into concrete solutions. You have good analytical skills and can handle complex issues while maintaining a holistic view in your work. You are expected to take responsibility for your tasks and drive processes forward in a structured and efficient manner. Good collaboration and clear communication with colleagues are necessary. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities!

Meritorious

It is advantageous if you have;

  • experience in designing and complementing policy documents/strategies for electronic preservation and follow-up of actions,
  • experience in disposal investigations of operational systems/information systems and digital documents/data,
  • experience in system implementation and delivery work, preferably e-archives,
  • experience with the case management system Platina,
  • experience in training staff regarding archives and information management.
