Child and Youth Rehabilitation

Child and youth rehabilitation is an operation responsible for habilitation services for children and young people aged 0-17 with movement disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and/or autism. We take a holistic view of the child's/youth's needs and follow their development over time. In Gävle, we are a dedicated interdisciplinary team working in close collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will have the opportunity to focus on the target group of autism and/or intellectual disabilities. You will work more specifically on assessment and treatment related to time, structure, and cognitive support to help the child/youth become more independent and involved in everyday life. Openness to flexibility in the job description may, however, be relevant based on the needs of the operation.

We believe that an employee with this more defined focus has a greater opportunity to work remotely and be involved in developing both occupational therapy and team-based digital healthcare contacts. The stationing location is Gävle. We meet patients and guardians at the clinic, in the home, at preschool/school, and other places in the patient's environment. Today, we also offer a high proportion of digital healthcare contacts.

As an occupational therapist with us, you will work with:

• assessment and treatment of activity/participation in everyday life
• testing and follow-up of cognitive aids
• supervision/training/group activities for patients and guardians
• collaboration with other healthcare and municipal services.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills and the ability to easily adapt to new situations as the work is varied and our individual meetings are largely shaped by the person we meet. You should be able to take your own initiatives and drive processes independently based on the needs of the patient and the operation. You should have a good structure and plan for your interventions to help others with problem-solving in everyday life.

In the role of occupational therapist, you should:

• be a licensed occupational therapist
• have a valid B driver's license.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have further education or experience working with children or adults with disabilities. It is also advantageous to be familiar with the healthcare systems used within Region Gävleborg.
