Orthopedic Department in Gävle

The Orthopedic Department in Gävle provides emergency care, planned surgery, and day surgery services. The department currently consists of 26 patient beds, divided among four care teams made up of nurses and nursing assistants. During the autumn and spring, we have a group for elective procedures from Monday to Friday, with four to six patient beds. You will rotate between the emergency unit and the elective part.

Here, you will meet a wonderful team of colleagues who spread joy and knowledge. We work in a structured manner and follow routines to ensure equal care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We treat, operate on, and care for patients with diseases, injuries, and pain in muscles and bones. The care teams collaborate closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, dietitians, and social workers. The department has a care coordinator with whom you will collaborate before the patient's discharge from inpatient care. With us, you will contribute to the development of the organization, which may include time for chart reviews, supervision, areas of responsibility, training, and participation in various projects. As we operate 24/7, this means working day and evening shifts, as well as night shifts by agreement.

As a nurse with us, you will work with:

• caring for orthopedic patients in close collaboration with various professionals
• preventive care, pain relief, documentation, medication management, and contributing to the development of orthopedic patients
• participating in various development projects
• identifying risks and implementing measures based on the nursing process.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has the ability to organize, prioritize, and plan work effectively. You have a commitment to your work, set goals, and seek new challenges. To succeed in this role, we also see that you have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and communicate well with others. Since the work may require you to make quick decisions, the ability to lead and collaborate is important, and as a newly graduated nurse, seeking help from experienced colleagues is essential.

In the role of a nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse
• be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience in orthopedics and are familiar with our care system, Cosmic.
