Job Advertisement: Nurse for the Infectious Disease Department

The Infectious Disease Department is part of the specialized medicine area and is the unit in Region Gävleborg that provides inpatient specialized care for severe infectious conditions. Increased travel, migration, and rising antibiotic resistance make infectious medicine a constantly relevant and exciting subject.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you will be responsible for the care of your nursing team together with two nursing assistants. You will coordinate both medical and nursing issues together with doctors, other nurses, nursing assistants, care planners, coordinators, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. We collaborate with pharmacists who prepare antibiotics during the day for nurses.

As a nurse with us, you will work with:

• sampling, treatment, wound care, and other nursing interventions
• preparation and administration of medications
• planning and coordination for continued interventions at home together with the department's care planners.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is empathetic and can adapt their approach based on the individual and situation. You can work independently and are concerned about both quality and patient safety. We see that you have good collaboration skills and appreciate a varied job in a fast-paced and educational environment. We are looking for both new nurses and those who have worked for a longer time. Students graduating in June are also welcome to apply.

In the role of nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare
• be able to communicate fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing.

Previous experience in infectious disease care and/or other care of acutely ill patients is an advantage.
