The Customs Agency's mission is to limit organized and large-scale crime and to prevent the illegal importation of narcotics and doping agents, alcohol, tobacco, weapons, and other goods that threaten life, health, and the environment. The Customs Agency aims to reduce the number of criminal networks engaged in drug, alcohol, or tobacco smuggling or economic crime.
The Customs Agency consists of four operational departments: the Control Department, the Revenue Department, the Intelligence Department, and the Customs Crime Department. The Customs Crime Department is responsible for the Customs Agency's criminal investigation activities and technical collection. The operations work within the framework of preliminary investigations of crimes or measures that will lead to preliminary investigations of crimes with the aim of prosecuting the masterminds behind criminal activities, reducing the profitability of crime, and significantly disrupting criminal activities.
The Customs Crime Department consists of a national IT and technology center responsible for secret coercive measures, surveillance technology, and IT forensics, the Customs Agency's laboratory, and four customs crime units responsible for their respective geographical areas: South, West, East, and North. The units are divided into operational areas: surveillance, investigation of serious crimes, and investigation of volume crimes.
We are now looking for an expert for the Customs Crime Unit South's management support.
About the position
As an expert, you will primarily have tasks related to the unit's surveillance activities on behalf of the unit management. This includes responsibility for managing the surveillance-related improvement work and administrative measures within the unit. The position also includes participation in other administrative tasks handled within the unit's management support.
The position also includes certain national components within the surveillance activities, with a stated main responsibility for training in the area. This part is planned and carried out as needed with other authorities. The position includes your participation as an instructor or in other ways leading training efforts. You will also participate in the work of national operational development.
The Customs Crime Department's responsibility is national, and the strategic work at the regional management supports aims to create conditions for the best possible national operations. In the role of expert in the management support South, it is therefore included to handle both regional assignments from the unit management and national assignments from the department management.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed and approved basic training in the Customs Agency's crime prevention or equivalent basic training in a law enforcement agency that the employer assesses as equivalent
- Documented completed training as a surveillance instructor within the surveillance activities (NPS) from a law enforcement agency
- Ongoing, well-documented, and several years of experience working in operational surveillance activities within a law enforcement agency, with both surveillance supported by secret coercive measures and surveillance using regulated and unregulated surveillance methods
- Ongoing and several years of experience working with training planning within surveillance activities within a law enforcement agency
- Very good communication skills, able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Well-documented experience in conducting training within surveillance
- Swedish citizenship
- Driver's license B
It is meritorious if you have:
- Well-documented and current experience working within the surveillance activities of the Customs Crime Department, Customs Agency
- Well-documented experience in development work within surveillance activities/in the subject area
- Training and good knowledge of the Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to utilize its functions for writing, calculation, and presentation

You have the ability to build and maintain networks and are attentive, responsive, and easy to collaborate with and establish new contacts. Furthermore, you are proactive and have the ability to drive the work forward independently. You have a good ability to see the Customs Agency's overall mission.
You are quality-conscious, structured, and meticulous. You are a good communicator with pedagogical ability both in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English. You are comfortable presenting to larger and smaller groups.

The employment is a permanent position and begins with a 6-month probationary period, individual salary setting applies.

Business trips, both domestic and international, may occur.
