Nyköping Gymnasium is built according to the Nyköping model – a school that looks like Sweden. The school offers national programs, introductory programs, and adapted upper secondary school. Our holistic idea is based on clarity, meaningfulness, student co-creation, and conscious good meetings. The holistic idea is the link between the curriculum's mission and our everyday life. It guides us in our pedagogical meetings with all students. Nyköping Gymnasium has about 260 employees and 1650 students.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In your work as a special education teacher, you will closely collaborate with school management, teachers, and student health staff. You will work with lesson observations, additional adaptations, investigations of students' needs for special support, student conversations, study techniques, motivational conversations, action programs, as well as guidance and follow-up with educators.

You will be part of a team in one or two upper secondary programs and participate in a larger forum that Nyköping Gymnasium's student health constitutes. You will be part of the student health's special education group where different perspectives, research, and professional development are discussed, thereby participating in the school's development both broadly and in detail. The special education teachers at the school work comprehensively and do not have their own classes.

Nyköping Gymnasium operates in three locations in the municipality - Gripen, Skavsta, Nicolai. Employment may be relevant at one or two units.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are an experienced, educated, and certified teacher with additional qualifications in special education. You have experience with students in need of special support and experience in mentoring educators. You are a professional educator with a good ability to contribute to high goal achievement for students. You see opportunities, are development-oriented, and have good collaborative skills with students, guardians, and staff.

As a special education teacher, you are well acquainted with and use various tools and methods based on scientific principles. As a person, you are communicative, responsive, driven, and creative with a focus on solutions. You have an inclusive perspective, are flexible, enjoy challenges, and thrive in teamwork, but also independently. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and suitability. Certification should be included in your application.
