Substitute Teacher for Vehicle and Transport Program

The Vehicle and Transport Program is located at Rekarnegymnasiet, which is Eskilstuna's largest high school. The program consists of three years divided into 12 classes with eager students. Here, you will work alongside 18 wonderful colleagues, contributing to the personal and academic development of students on their journey towards professional life.

The position is a temporary contract from 12/8 2025 to 17/2 2026.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will teach students in grades 2 and 3 in vehicle technology, focusing on passenger cars. The teaching will be both theoretical and practical, and you will play an important role in developing students' knowledge and skills within the profession. Part of the job involves assessing students' performance, both in school-based teaching and during workplace-based learning (APL), where you will follow up on their development at companies. You will have a key role in collaboration with the business community and be the link between the school and the companies where students do their APL. As a vocational teacher, you will also mentor a class and support them in their education. You are an important part of the work team and contribute to good collaboration with colleagues within the program and the school as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a background in the automotive industry, preferably with teaching experience. You are a trained vehicle mechanic or vehicle technician with professional knowledge in the field. Experience working with young people is an advantage, as is having worked with APL supervision at your workplace.

To thrive in this role, you need a strong desire to share your knowledge and experiences. You enjoy explaining and guiding, both practically in the workshop and theoretically in the classroom. Your communication skills are one of your strengths. You can express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing, which is important for supporting students' learning and documenting their development. You are also pedagogical, patient, and engaged in seeing each student develop.
