Project Engineer for the Archaeological Project within the Ostlänken Program

Job Responsibilities

The program organization for Ostlänken is tasked with building 160 kilometers of new railway between Järna and Linköping. This is a necessary enhancement of the railway's capacity that contributes to shorter travel times, sustainable transport, and better punctuality in train traffic. We need you, and we believe you will enjoy working with us!

Your primary task will be to support our project managers in the archaeological project. Here, you will play a key role in project management with a wide range and variation in your tasks. Among other things, you will participate in project and kickoff meetings and be involved in decision-making and case management. As a project engineer, you will be responsible for driving, coordinating, and developing common processes regarding, for example, accessibility measures, that is, the work we carry out to enable field starts for the archaeological companies. Your tasks will also include minute-taking, project reporting, financial monitoring, risk management, and administering the digital structure within the project.

Who are you?

This is an opportunity for you who are at the start of your career and want to deepen and broaden your skills as a project engineer. We are looking for someone interested in developing within project management in the long term, which requires you to be self-driven, see what needs to be done, and have an unpretentious attitude that allows you to actively contribute to common goals.

To succeed in this role, we see that you need to have good collaboration skills, as you will have many contact points and collaborations both internally and externally. You are a skilled communicator with the ability to provide a professional response in various contexts. Furthermore, you are analytical, accustomed to working according to a clear process, structure and plan your work well, and meet deadlines.

We are looking for someone who has

• A university or college degree of at least 180 credits (120 ECTS) with a relevant focus on, for example, engineering, economics, urban development, urban planning, or cultural heritage
• Good computer skills and knowledge of the Office suite (especially Excel)
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing
• A valid driver's license for passenger cars

It is advantageous if you also have

• Some years of experience in project work where you have worked with, for example, project management, project planning, project administration, as a contracting engineer, or in another relevant role
• Current work experience from the construction or civil engineering industry within road or railway projects
• Experience working with issues related to archaeology or cultural heritage work
• Academic education in archaeology or cultural heritage work
• Experience working in Project Wise and/or CDI
