Dance Teacher Wanted at Östersund's Cultural School

Your New Job

The dance education at Östersund's Cultural School takes place both in our own facilities at Folkets Hus and on Frösön, and we are also out in schools working with groups. In the fall of 2025, the school will launch the project "Dance in School," where the Cultural School's educators will work for an entire school year with classes in selected schools. The dance teachers create the content of their courses themselves and focus more on dance and movement than on specific dance styles.

Therefore, the Cultural School is now looking for one to two new colleagues who love working with children and youth in dance and dance education, starting in August 2025. Full-time or part-time, depending on how much you want to work.

We are looking for someone who loves working with children and youth, mostly in small groups, but sometimes also in full classes. The positions involve dance groups at the Cultural School, outreach work at after-school care and youth clubs in the municipality, and the new project "Dance in School" at Park School and Kastalskolan. You will also participate in other projects that the Cultural School runs, such as musicals, or your own ideas that you want to try. It is important that you are good at collaborating with the best colleagues in the world, with children with different needs, and that you are also good at coming up with ideas and initiatives. We work in subject teams and work teams. Teaching mostly takes place in the afternoons, but also during the day when we have "Dance in School."

The Cultural School's teachers teach in schools throughout the municipality, so it is beneficial if you have a B driver's license and access to your own car. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in primary school.

We also expect you to have a good education as a dancer, dance educator, or choreographer, preferably a university degree or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent, such as a foreign degree, etc.
