JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a substitute craft teacher with good pedagogical skills. At Bäckedals Folk High School, you will work on planning and conducting craft courses. You will be part of a team with other craft teachers. Together with your team, you will design the content of the course activities and make adjustments based on the participants' needs and conditions. In your role as a teacher at the folk high school, you will meet the school's participants at the level they are at. You will guide the course participants to develop both their skills and socially in groups. The position mainly involves teaching, planning, and mentoring. Additionally, it includes purchasing materials, maintaining the forge/activity space, and equipment, etc. An important part of the assignment is also working with admissions and certificates.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have experience in teaching. A folk high school teacher education or teacher education is an advantage. You have education and broad knowledge in traditional blacksmithing of functional items and tools. You also have knowledge in metallurgy and other metalworking techniques. You have a historical interest and can place forged functional items and forging techniques in a historical context. Experience from folk high school/adult education is advantageous, as well as knowledge in other types of crafts.
