Asterns Preschool is centrally located in the Odenslund area of Östersund. The preschool has 5 departments with groups of about 15 children in each department. Our preschool is an inspiring workplace where we focus on the child through participation, influence, respect, and security. Collegial learning and exchange are central for everyone at the preschool; we learn from and with each other to develop education and teaching.

Your new job

We are now looking for a qualified preschool teacher for Asterns Preschool starting in August 2025. The application deadline is April 25.

You will be part of a team where you will plan and be responsible for the children's education and development together. We assume that all children want, can, and dare, and that they are in an environment where they have the opportunity to use and develop their skills. As a preschool teacher with us, you are expected to develop trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Common tasks

• The preschool teacher is responsible for leading the systematic quality work at the preschool by planning, teaching, documenting, and evaluating the content of the activities together with colleagues in the work team.
• As a preschool teacher, you are responsible according to the curriculum for respecting the children's needs and applying a democratic working method where children can actively participate.
• Plan and implement activities based on the curriculum.
• Develop pedagogical content that inspires development and learning while stimulating and challenging children's interests, curiosity, and attention.
• Provide each child with secure care and promote all children's development and learning.
• Create learning opportunities based on children's needs and interests so that all children can develop according to their abilities and conditions.

Your qualifications

Requirements

• Educated and licensed preschool teacher.
• You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

• You have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and can implement these in daily work.
• It is meritorious if you have previous experience in preschool.
• You have good computer skills, and it is meritorious if you have worked with digital systems aimed at schools, such as Unikum.
• It is also meritorious if you speak more languages than Swedish.
• You have a driver's license.

You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a responsive and smooth way in teaching and the daily life of the preschool. You create good relationships and collaborate well with the contacts that occur in your professional role.
