Your New Job

The majority of your work as a nursing assistant involves direct care and support for the residents.

This work includes individualized assistance in all areas necessary for the resident to have as rich and normal a life as possible. For example, hygiene, dressing, ordering food, serving food, setting the table, washing dishes, laundry, ironing, requisitioning supplies, administering medication, going for walks, accompanying to e.g., the dentist, or conversing with the residents, etc. In all these areas, the residents should be activated as much as possible to enhance or maintain their functional ability. The position also includes providing care and support at the end of life and palliative care. The work also involves various forms of reporting, documentation, and case management. This means that you have a special supervisory responsibility for the resident(s) for whom you are the case manager.

You administer medication on delegation from a nurse, carry out certain rehabilitation efforts on delegation from an occupational therapist/physiotherapist, and report ongoing operations verbally and in writing to the unit manager/nurse and colleagues.

Your Qualifications

Perhaps you are currently studying and want to work simultaneously to gain extra knowledge and work experience? We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and engaged. It is an advantage if you have work experience from care and support/elderly care/dementia.

You understand how to prioritize the individual's and the organization's best interests, and you are comfortable having a lot of contact with tenants, relatives, and colleagues. You are proficient in Swedish and should be able to express yourself in both spoken and written forms to absorb and convey information, read, and understand written instructions. You need to be able to use a computer as your work tool.

To succeed in the role of nursing assistant with us, we believe you are positive, flexible, and good at independently planning and executing your work. You are stable and have the ability to handle a busy everyday life while remaining calm even in unforeseen or acute situations. You also have good collaboration and communication skills. The job requires physical mobility as situations arise that cannot be predicted and must be resolved in a manner suitable for the situation.

The task of the Social Administration is to ensure that everyone residing in Jönköping Municipality, based on politically assigned tasks and according to applicable legislation, has their basic needs for support, care, and security met. The Social Administration encompasses the functions of elderly care, disability care, individual and family care, and the authority unit.

Havsörnen Elderly Home has 36 apartments distributed across four units. The residence is staffed around the clock and is a fully accommodated home. In 2023, a decision was made that all units should focus on dementia care. Havsörnen Elderly Home is located in the center of Råslätt, within walking distance to services such as a hairdresser, well-stocked grocery store, post office, restaurant, and bakery. There is also proximity to lush nature and lovely walking paths. Accessibility for visitors is good as there is ample parking close to the residence and very good bus connections.

Good to Know

We are now seeking three temporary positions with varying degrees of employment (as needed), starting as soon as possible or by agreement. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening shifts on both weekdays and weekends, as well as every other weekend. We work with joint planning, so working in another unit may be relevant. Jönköping Municipality strives for full-time as the norm and always offers a 100% employment rate.
