The Role of Surgical Nurse

As a surgical nurse with us, you are a central part of the surgical team, where different professions collaborate closely to provide the best possible care. You will work in a newly built surgical department with 10 spacious operating rooms that provide a modern and safe working environment. To develop our operations, you will also participate in our ongoing quality and improvement work.

The Surgery and Intensive Care Clinic at Värnamo Hospital is a state-of-the-art clinic with large modern rooms with full surgical integration. We offer you an interesting job, with good opportunities for personal and professional development. We consist of three departments – surgery, anesthesia, and intensive care, including recovery units. We also have a sterile technical unit and an administrative unit. We are about 160 employees – doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, sterile technicians, and administrative staff.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a nurse with specialized training in surgery. You need to be independent and have a strong ability to structure and plan your work. You are stable, have good judgment, and are skilled at collaborating. Here, you need to be flexible and ready to make quick decisions – a routine operation can quickly turn into an emergency situation where your calmness and competence make a difference. Previous experience from similar operations is desirable, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
