Your new job

The operations are based on the values of elderly care: Social services' care for the elderly should focus on ensuring that older individuals can live a dignified life and feel well-being (SoL Chapter 5, Section 4).

As a care assistant with us, you play a significant role in providing individualized care and support, as well as social stimulation - always with the individual in focus. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to creating a valuable everyday life for our elderly residents with a high level of service. A dignified life and well-being are strengthened through self-determination, individual adaptation, participation, respect for privacy and personal integrity, good treatment, quality services, security, as well as meaningfulness and context.

As a care assistant, you collaborate daily with your colleagues, but there is also some individual work involved. You have close contact with unit managers who are present, and you also collaborate with other professionals such as nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and care coordinators.

Your tasks will be permeated by a focus on person-centered care. Your work should add a touch of gold to the everyday lives of the elderly - every day! In addition to personal care, you will also work with daily chores such as cleaning and laundry, social activities, medication management, and various responsibilities in the form of representative duties. You will also actively work with case management, implementation plans, and social documentation.

Your qualifications

You are a trained care assistant with experience in working in specialized housing. Knowledge/experience in dementia care is an advantage.

To succeed in the role of care assistant with us, you have a genuine interest in driving and developing various quality-enhancing activities for our elderly citizens. You are positive, flexible, and good at independently planning and executing your work. You are stable and have the ability to handle a dynamic everyday life while maintaining calm even in unforeseen or acute situations. You also have good collaboration skills, good communication skills, and act in the best interest of the individual and the organization in your actions and decision-making.

You, as an applicant, have very good knowledge of speaking and writing in Swedish and possess a high reading comprehension of written texts. You should be able to actively participate in training/information during workplace meetings and be able to absorb information. Furthermore, you have experience in writing journal notes and possess excellent computer skills. The work requires physical mobility as situations arise that cannot be predicted and must be resolved in a manner appropriate to the situation.

Welcome to us. Österängen Nursing Home, with 45 cheerful and dedicated employees, is beautifully situated high up in the Österängen district. The building is surrounded by plenty of greenery, and we are close to beautiful nature and green areas in all directions. At our nursing home, we have activities every day. These include gymnastics, boules, bingo, reading groups, singing groups, and a social group where we bake, among other things. When the weather and season permit, many activities take place outdoors in our garden, where you can also taste berries and enjoy the summer greenery. Österängen Nursing Home has a resident council consisting of representatives from the residents, staff, and unit manager. Here, representatives have the opportunity to influence and discuss issues concerning the residence.

Good to know

The recruitment concerns 1 permanent position, full-time, with start date according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends, and you will work every other weekend. Resource shifts may involve working in all units of the operation. Jönköping works with full-time as the norm and always offers 100% employment.

This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare will be required to use the title of care assistant in healthcare and social services.
