A Day at Work

At Hölöskolan, we are looking for a teacher in wood and metal crafts for grades 3 – 9. If you have qualifications in wood and metal crafts, we encourage you to apply for the position with us. You will belong to a team where you, together with other teachers, take responsibility for and develop the work in the classroom to maximize learning for our students. You will be responsible for teaching, evaluation, and development of this, as well as documentation. At Hölöskolan, study peace and safety are prioritized areas of development, and we highly value Hölöskolan's lesson structure. Other prioritized areas include attendance monitoring and language-developing and interdisciplinary approaches. A structured collegial effort aimed at enhancing teaching is successfully driven by our lead teachers. The position is 70 - 80%, but if you have a subject you are qualified to teach and that we need supplementation in, the position can increase to 100%. Depending on your competence, experience, and qualifications, we also offer the opportunity for a lead teacher role that aligns with what we are working to develop at Hölöskolan.

Your Responsibilities

You are a clear leader in the classroom while creating a safe learning environment for the students. You are attentive and meet the students based on their conditions while creating positive relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You take responsibility for and have insight into the students' results, which means you are responsive to each student's conditions and needs. You focus on learning and see a connection between your students' results and your teaching. You assess the students' knowledge based on the criteria in Lgr 22 and maintain an open dialogue with management and student health regarding students in need of extra support. Contributing curiously, positively, and actively to increased learning for our students through active participation in meetings, conferences, and gatherings of various kinds is also part of your role. If you qualify for the position of lead teacher, you will drive development together with three other lead teachers at the school in areas agreed upon by school management and the development group.

At Hölöskolan, we conduct systematic quality work focusing on accessible learning environments, attendance, and operationally close student health. To develop teaching, and thus learning, at the school, our lead teachers conduct collegial work in the area. Time is therefore allocated for both reading current research and reflecting and analyzing one's own teaching, as we believe this is of great importance.
Hölöskolan is a municipal school beautifully located with nature around it in a very quiet and rural area of Södertälje municipality. We are a two-parallel F - 9 school, and about 55 people work with our 420 students. There is a municipal library in the school that has just been renovated and is fantastic. The library is open to students in the mornings and to the public in the afternoons. We also have a library educator who this school year has created fantastic podcasts with our students. Adjacent to the school, there are also sports facilities, football fields, outdoor gyms, and exercise trails. We have a kitchen that prepares good and nutritious food every day. About 80% of the food is locally grown or organic. At Hölöskolan, we work to ensure that all students, regardless of background or conditions, achieve the goals in all subjects through an accessible learning environment characterized by a salutogenic approach where clarity in the joint work creates safety, which in turn creates well-being.
